About Project
Fibrestyle undertook a comprehensive pool renovation for a pebblecrete pool in Camden Park. The pool, in an "L" shape and measuring 10m by 3.5m, needed resurfacing and additional work on a feature wall. Initially, the owner was unable to secure a tiler for the wall, so our team stepped in to complete the tiling, causing a slight delay in the overall timeline. Additionally, due to the extremely hot weather, we had to ensure that the pool’s surface was protected from the sun throughout the process, as heat exposure can compromise the quality of the finish. Despite these challenges, the pool was completed with exceptional results.
For this resurfacing project, we followed the following process:
- Drain the pool.
- Remove the hydrostatic valve.
- Remove damaged/"drummy" areas to existing surfaces (up to 2sqm).
- Tile the feature wall.
- Prepare pool surface to accommodate new fibreglass interior.
- Cut out and treat rust.
- Apply a Primer Coat.
- Apply Reinforcing Material (Fibreglass Laminate).
- Apply Bulk Resin Coat over Fibreglass Laminate.
- Apply Filler Coat (undercoat).
- Apply Final Topcoat (colour of your choice).
- Apply a non-slip surface to step treads.
- Replace hydrostatic valve.
